How is your program different from other “school readiness” programs? We believe in the power of education and in formal schooling. We are not a permanent alternative to school, but instead a supplement program that builds on the skills your child has to ensure they are successful in school in the future. We don’t focus on teaching your child how to be a student, but instead how to be a meaningfully engaged learner who is adaptable and prepared for the critical thinking and problem solving skills required for school.
-
Who pays for your services? We have a variety of payment options to meet your family’s needs. If your child’s school recommends this service, they may pay for all or a portion of our services. If your child has a diagnosis of Autism, your insurance plan may cover all or part of services received. We also offer private payment plans with cash pay discounts.
-
What topics does your program cover? Our day is divided into instruction blocks based on topic, including: building social language, comprehension, logic and executive functioning skills, individual instruction time, emotional regulation, and academic instruction. If your child has an IEP (Individualized Education Program), the goals in it will also be targeted within their day.
-
How old are the learners you serve? We work with learners as young as 3 getting ready for preschool through 9th grade and learners are grouped based on age. Older learners have the opportunity to teach younger learners in a topic of interest to them. Learners are required to be potty trained.
-
What type of learners do you support? Those with learning disabilities, ADHD, executive dysfunction, Autism, learning differences, or anyone else who benefits from specialized, individualized instruction!
-
Are you a therapeutic day school? No, we are not a school, we are a learning center committed to supporting your child’s return to school!
-
How do you guarantee progress? We use evidence-based practices including precision teaching, Direct Instruction, behavior analysis, personalized system of instruction (PSI), and take data on everything to ensure there is progress on a skill every day. When learners aren’t progressing, we make changes to materials or teaching arrangements to recalibrate and ensure efficient and effective progress.
